| Qualcomm Vs Apple |
The US chip maker Qualcomm has won the patent dispute case against Apple in the German Court, which may result in ban of sale of iphones in Germany. According to Qualcomm, Apple was infringing Qualcomm's intellectual rights which is related to the power saving in the device.
"The ruling effectively outlaws the offering and placing on the market of the finished product in Germany, including the sale. The iPhones 7plus, 7, 8, 8plus and X are affected," said the regional court in Munich in a statement.
Apple has suspended the sales of iphone 7 and iphone 8 in Germany because of the ban, although the newer devices like the iphone XS, iphone XR will remain unaffected.
Qualcomm has also won a similar kind of case in China where the iphones were going to get banned but then Apple updated the ios and saved itself. Here it seems impossible for Apple to save iphone 7 and iphone 8 from getting banned as the problem is hardware based.
The war between Apple and Qualcomm started two years ago when Apple accused Qualcomm for spiking the prices of it's modern chips. In answer to this Qualcomm launched a variety of lawsuits against Apple accusing it to violating Qualcomm's intellectual property rights.
