Samsung has teased it's most rumoured Galaxy smartphone which will have a foldable display. The company has released a picture on it's official facebook account in which the word "Samsung" is seen folded from the middle. The picture has spread the rumours that the company is ready to reveal it's most awaited Galaxy Foldable Smartphone on November 7th and 8th in it's annual developer conference which will take place in San Francisco.
The Ceo of Samsung's Mobile Division, DJ Koh has already confirmed that the device will be launched by the end of the year. Koh said,"It's time to deliver" which means that the phone is coming pretty soon. “You can use most of the uses... on foldable status. But when you need to browse or see something, then you may need to unfold it. But even unfolded, what kind of benefit does that give compared to the tablet? If the unfolded experience is the same as the tablet, why would they (consumers) buy it?,” DJ Koh told. “So every device, every feature, every innovation should have a meaningful message to our end customer. So when the end customer uses it, (they think) ‘wow, this is the reason Samsung made it’ ”, he'd added.
Samsung is currently trying to make the phone in an “unfolded” state different from a tablet.
Even at the Galaxy A9 event DJ Koh said,"When we deliver a foldable phone, it has to be really meaningful to our customer. If the user experience is not up to my standard, I don't want to deliver those [sic] kind of products. The foldable phone will not be a ‘gimmick product’ that will ‘disappear after six to nine months after it's delivered.' "
Though the company has teased the developer's conference, the matter is still unclear that what Samsung may show at the conference. The recent reports suggests that the demonstration will be focused more on software.
Well according to a report from Bloomberg, Samsung may not be ready to completely reveal it's foldable smartphone. A Korean publication The Bell has also revealed the possible specifications of the new device. According to The Bell, the main display will reportedly be 7.29 inches with the secondary “outside” display measuring 4.58 inches.
