It seems like the year 2019 is going to be the year of the foldable display smartphones. First the Samsung and now LG has confirmed that they will be bringing phones with foldable display in 2019.
The Ceo of LG Mobile, Hwang Jeong-hwan has already confirmed that the company is working on a foldable phone. LG has applied for three new trademarks with the, EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). All the three trademarks are for the foldable display smartphones, The names of the trademarks are Flex, Foldi and Duplex.
The Flex and Foldi trademarks will be used for the phones which will come with foldable and flexible displays and the Duplex is supposed to be reserved for a phone with two flexible screens.
Well Flexi, Foldi and Duplex are not the only trademarks LG has, as LG has also applied for five more trademarks named as Bendi, Solid, Solidis, XB and XF. This means that LG is working pretty hard on the foldable displays.
LG was also the first company to bring a curved display smartphone which was different from what they are trying to implement now. Samsung is also already working on bringing their foldable display device which will be named as Samsung Galaxy Flex. Other companies like Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Motorola and Oppo are also working on bringing a foldable smartphone.
It is not confirmed that who is gonna bring the first foldable smartphone but it is confirmed that 2019 is going to be really exciting for the smartphones.
