The new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL launched

The Google has officially launched the new 2018 pixel devices - Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in an event held in New York, along with Pixel Slate Tablet, a Pixel Book Laptop and a Google Home Hub Device. Both the devices shares the form factor and design from the last pixels but there are some improvements as compared to the last generation.

The Pixel 3

The Pixel 3 starts at $799. The device has a beautiful 5.5 inch FHD+ flexible OLED at 443 ppi display with a 18:9 aspect ratio. It is an always on display but can be change in the settings and also has Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 2.5GHz + 1.6GHz, Octa Core Processor with Pixel Visual Core and Adreno 630. It also got Titan M security module.

The cameras are always a great highlight of the Pixel devices and again the Google has shown the magic. It has gone with a single camera layout on the back but in the front it has a new dual camera setup. The rear camera is 12.2MP with f/1.8 aperture and a FoV of 76 degrees. It has an optical image and electronic stabilization with autofocus and dual pixel phase detection. The rear camera can record videos in 1080p (at 30fps, 60fps and 120fps), in 720p (at 30fps, 60fps and 240fps) and in 4K (at 30fps). The front camera is a dual camera setup with 8MP wide angle and the other with normal FoV. The wide angle camera has f/2.2 aperture with 97 degrees of Fov and the normal camera has f/1.8 aperture with 75 degrees of Fov. The front camera is capable of recording videos in 1080p, 720p and 4K all in 30fps.

The device is available with two storages i.e. 64 gb and 128 gb, both with 4 gb ram. It has dual front firing stereo speakers with noise suppression and 3 mics. The device has a battery of 2915 mAh with 18W Fast Charging and Wireless Charging for the first time.

The device has a single nano sim also with an eSim. It has a aluminium frame with hybrid coating, soft touch glass on the back and IPX8 dust and water protection.

The Pixel 3 XL starts at $899. The device has a much bigger display of 6.3 inches which is a QHD OLED with a pixel density of 523 ppi and has a huge notch which looks a little horrifying. It has a 18:5:9 aspect ratio. This also has an always on display which can be changed in the settings and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The cameras are exactly the same in both the devices which is a single camera layout on the back and a dual camera setup in the front. The rear camera is 12.2MP with f/1.8 aperture and a FoV of 76 degrees. It has an optical image and electronic stabilization with autofocus and dual pixel phase detection. Google has also introduced it's own charging stand known as the Pixel Stand as an optional accessory worth $79. Both the devices comes with two tone finish i.e. matte and glossy and will be available with the latest Android 9 also named as Android Pie.
