Messenger 4 : The new Facebook Messenger App

Facebook has overhauled the existing Messenger App to make it more simpler for the users. The new Messenger 4 app is launched by the social network giant to overcome the complexity the older version had. The older version of the app was overloaded with features which negatively effecting the basic chat interface of the application.

The Facebook is going back to the basics as it has redesigned the messenger by replacing the existing 9 tabs in the app with just 3 tabs, making it more simpler and easy to use. The new app will also take some features from the older versions of the app, like the ability for people to create custom polls with friends and family members that use Messenger and show those connections, the company is deciding to give the app a fresh start.

The new updated tabs will allow the users to navigate between Chats, People and Discovery which will make the app less complicated and more usable by simplifying the interface. The new tabs :

• The "Chat" is the main tab of the app where all the threads of your chats will be shown and where you can chat with people by sending text, pictures, voice calls or video calls.
• The "People" tab is where people can see their connections and their availability including the stories they have shared.
• The "Discover" tab is where people can enjoy some basic video games with their messenger friends or can chat with the companies that have built a connection through messengers and can chat with the support staff for problems.

Facebook will also introduce a dark mode to the app for the users to reduce the effect on their eyes. The Facebook Vice President of Messenger, Stan Chudnovsky said, that they will be very careful and will try not to damage the user experience.
